Professional Journey

Karthik Sridhar is actively engaged in the development of a brain network model as part of the transregional research centre- Retune project. This ambitious initiative strives to propel advancements in brain-machine interfaces, and my role specifically involves the validation of these models using real-time human data.

In my earlier position, I served as a Research Engineer at University College Dublin (UCD), Ireland, where my focus centred on optimizing computational models for deep brain stimulation. This collaboration extended to prominent entities in the medical device industry, including the Boston Scientific Cooperation Centre and the Insight Centre for Data Analytics. My responsibilities involved simulating realistic electric field distributions and using these models to train artificial intelligence models to predict the volume of tissue activation.

Academic Journey

Karthik Sridhar holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from University College Dublin, His research focused on the modeling and characterization of the active electrode tissue interface in deep brain stimulation. His academic journey includes earning an M.Sc. in Computational Engineering from Universität Rostock, Germany, and degrees in MTech - Computational Aided Design (CAD) from SRM University, India, and BTech in Mechanical Engineering from JNTU, India.
