Research Projects Description

After the discovery of the Higgs boson at LHC in 2012, CERN launched the design study of future circular collider (FCC) to serve as a post LHC accelerator for probing energy regimes beyond the LHC scope. The FCC study covers three machines for colliding different particles: protonproton (hh), electronpositron (e+e) and hadronlepton (he) collider. The SRF system of the FCC will accelerate proton beams to 50 TeV and lepton beams up to 175 GeV. In addition to the high energy, the SRF system of FCCee has to cope with beam currents exceeding 1 A for some modes of operation. The aim of my research is to define a viable cavity design and layout for FCCee RF system to cover the requirements for both high accelerating gradient and very high beam current.
